while the Yellow bags have been available on eBay overseas and through some Toy retailers for a few months, we've yet to see them in USA stores. I'm hoping to see this change in the next few months. Select retailers had a FEW in over Christmas, and that's likely to be just the tip of a coming influx. So, to get ready to find them all in stores, I've set up a handy ID graphic to help you spot the ponies you want in stores! It's also worth noting that the Princess blind bag figures (the Alicorn pose) is much larger than the others, and they HAVE packaged them with an extra plastic wedge to keep those extra long wings from bending. If all you want is to take home a princess, look for that extra bit of weight and that crunchy crackle inside the bag to know you've picked a winner. :)

Have I inundated you with enough new Ponies this month? What? I haven't?! GOOD! I have just received my first box of the Blue-Purple Bags (Wave 6). They may start showing up in stores toward the new year, but for now you can have a sneak peak at both the ponies AND the Blind Bag numbers you'll need to cherry pick the store boxes. This release is essentially a re-release of the ponies we saw in the Glitter Release, but as painted ponies. So if the Glitter Colts weren't masculine enough, you can now buy their normal paint versions. The one completely new pony (shown above) is Magnet Bolt, a fetching blue and red unicorn. The special Ponies in this lot are gem ponies. Our two favorite duelists Twilight Sparkle and Trixie (now with Twilight's haircut) have special 3D gem cutiemarks. Twilight Velvet (seen as Twilight Sparkles mother in a few episodes) is also honored with a special gem. To be honest, this release wasn't as creative as some. Royal Riff with his gray on Blue coloring and treble clef cutie mark is very similar to noteworthy with his blue on blue and music note coloring. Perhaps they're in a band? I assume the toy dept feels blue is necessary to drive home the colts masculinity. The gems also prove to be a little lackluster, more like jelly blobs (I guess they didn't want to have to glue rhinestones on by hand). Though as anal as I am, these are mass produced 2$ toys. My personal opinions stated, they're still adorable. I love the color combinations on both Crimson Gala and Peachie Sweet, and Merry May is a neat departure from the norm with her lime green/dark purple combination. Below the chart I'll post pictures of some of the Ponies mentioned, and if you want to take your time to browse them all, check out the Gallery Page. It is officially Christmas Shopping Time! I actually enjoy the challenge of finding the perfect thing for the people on my list, though the wrapping decorating and traveling can be exhausting! The good news is we have a bunch of new pony products here for you to look at and bid on at my eBay store!
First up, Yellow Blind Bags! Celestia, Luna, and Cadence sells so fast I can't keep them in stock! I have two left, and I may get one more case in before Christmas. More than just them, we also have some beautiful pegasus and unicorns in this set, including Trixie! Take a look at all of the ponies photographed and identified for your convenience here http://mylittleponymadness.weebly.com/new-blind-bags-wave-5-yellow.html . Secondly, we have a fantastic stocking stuffer or quick gift for the pony fan in your life, NEW Coloring books with cover art featuring Cadence and ponies from the Royal Wedding. These Royal Wedding books come in pink, purple, yellow, and blue. They're also a good weight, and have over 50 pages, so even a dedicated artist won't be done with this in a day. Take a look at them here! http://mylittleponymadness.weebly.com/my-little-pony-friendship-is-magic-books.html I'm also putting in my FIRST order of the Blue-Purple Blind Bags, which include new Colts (painted versions of the glitter ponies mostly, these are significantly more masculine, if you have a Brony who needs a gift. ;) ) I look forward to having them in hand and adding their photos to the site. Til then, we're starting our countdown to Christmas. And whatever you celebrate this midwinter, have the happiest of Holidays! There has been a certain amount of confusion about the Waves of Blind Bags. I admit I've been confused myself, It seems Hasbro has made a strange decision to release new Ponies to the USA in a different order than they followed in Europe. Germany has had 4 different 'Waves' of Blind Bag Ponies (Bags Pictured Below). While the USA has only JUST begun to see a second wave in local stores. The problem is, Hasbro seems to have skipped a release in getting them to USA stores. Ultimately, a LOT of the confusion stems from color. If you were to ask a person over the phone or email if they had the 2nd wave of Ponies, they'd tell you that there were indeed Purple Bagged Ponies in store. But WHICH bags are they? As evident from the picture, Wave 2 and 3 look very similar from the outside. But the ponies released are completely different from one release to the other. (For full Blind Bag pictures and details of the two waves, look here Wave 2 and Wave 3 ). The biggest difference inside the bag, is that the Wave 2 ponies had cards identical to the first wave, and had all the same molds. While Wave 3 had purple cards and included Colts. Several online retailers have already begun selling the Blind Bags with Colts under the listing of 'Wave 2' Blind Bags. Since they are indeed the second wave to hit the USA, that is technically correct, but confusing if you're a collector like me, and you want to get all the ponies that have been released.
The disappointing truth is that the Wave 2 Blind Bags are no longer in stores in Europe, and haven't been since May. If Hasbro does plan to 'skip' sending this wave to the USA then American collectors will miss out of Blind Bags of Cheerliee, Blossomforth, Feathermay, Snowcatcher, Daisy Dreams to name a few, and the original glitter forms of Rarity, Applejack, and Fluttershy. I'm holding out hope that perhaps they'll be released someday, perhaps as a later wave. But for now, as far as all the toy stores are concerned, Wave 2 USA is the same as the EUR Wave 3. So if you already spent the money to get the Wave 3's online, don't be fooled into buying the 'NEW' USA Wave 2. Since my site is about the complete collection of the Pony Blind Bags, I will continue to use the European designations first. Hope that's cleared up the confusion! Here's hoping this means we'll be seeing Wave 5, with the new Celestia Blind Bag figure, coming out soon! This is the official post. This is the first warning before I get them in and the market explodes. The Wave 4, GLITTER PONIES have been ordered. My German Supplier got them in, and I'll be getting my first case in two weeks. They'll start to go up for sale by 5/30/12.
THEY ARE AMAZING! I'm actually trying to get a whole case for myself this time. They're ALL gorgeous. All 24 ponies are the translucent glitter mold. This set includes the Mane 6 ALL Glitter, plus 18 brand new Glitter Ponies, INCLUDING FOUR GLITTER COLTS. and THREE special CHROME Ponies (Rarity, AJ, and Pinkie)! You heard right. Glitter COLTS. These are still the itty-bitty blind bags but I am SO very excited to have them. Also, fair warning, the market has CLOSED in Europe to buy the Wave3 Blind Bags. The market is DONE. Sold out. Over. I still have two cases to sell before I run out, then it'll be another 8 months (if we're lucky) and they start reissuing them to the USA. To see the Wave 3 ponies (including the first set of colts) Go to the bottom of the page here: http://mylittleponymadness.weebly.com/new-blind-bag-ponies-imported.html As for the NEW gorgeous Glitter Ponies? I only have one picture. GET EXCITED! PS If you are IN Europe and you want to shop for them, they come in new light BLUE foil bags. No identification system exists... YET. I recently was informed by a customer that they weren't very happy with the quality of the Blind Bag Ponies. While they were incorrect about them being damaged, they were right about one thing, they weren't perfect either. To satisfy my own concerns I've gone through my inventory of BRAND NEW still unopened merchandise and discovered that: Yes. There is an issue. It would seem that overall, and I've heard this complaint posted elsewhere, Hasbro did not put their best efforts into the quality control on their Blind Bag Ponies. Perhaps they figured that because they were so small no one would notice, perhaps they figured since they sold for so little, that they needed to be cheapened. In any event there are frequent and obvious problems with this line. Every Unicorn Pony in the Rarity pose has planing* on the edge of her front ear. Some have less, some have more, but if you LOOK for it, it's there. On every. single. one. The Twilight Sparkle pose Unicorns fared slightly better most only having slight burring** to their outer ear, facing away from their front. Unfortunately, the list goes on. Their are paint misses on several of the light colored ponies leaving them marked. The Pegasus Ponies are prone to having bent wings (which can be fixed if you're gentle) or planing on their left (back side) ears. The Pinkie Pie Pose ponies often have un-level feet, making them topple easily, or burrs on their hair. While the Applejack ponies are the best made, they still have frequent rough spots at their seams and tail tip. If these defects don't bother you, then you'll be happy with your Blind Bags! I love these ponies. They're my bread and butter. I love selling these to kids and enthusiasts and I want to keep most of them to myself! So why am I making a point of highlighting all their defects? Simply because quality is important to me. As is honesty in sales. I do my utmost to photograph EACH pony carefully, and I go out of my way to make large photos available so that if there are any flaws in the pony I'm selling it can be made visible to the buyer prior to a sale. I still love the Blind Bag Ponies. But they are NOT the best product Hasbro has made. Hasbro clearly chose quantity over quality in this case, and for me personally, as a collector, those defects are not enough to prevent me from buying. Do I wish every pony was better made? Yes. Will I buy these little darlings even if they're defected? Yes. But I know about the defects when making my purchase. I know what I'm getting into, and I can decide from there if I still think it's worth the price. It's the same with every used Pony I sell, and every used Pony I buy. Buyers deserve to know if there is anything WRONG with a product prior to buying. So, where do we go from here? I will still be selling the Blind Bags! I love them! I think they're adorable. They're so tiny that you really do have to LOOK for the problems. But knowing what I do now I plan to note any issues in the description, so that my buyers can know what they're looking at. The ponies ARE new. They will be listed as new. I can't fix or change manufacture defects, all I can do is educate buyers to the truth of what is out there. I do this because I want to be honest with my buyers. It's important to know that no matter where you buy the Blind Bag Ponies, they WILL most likely, have the same defects. Chances are though, no one else will tell you about it first. I don't believe in Buyer Beware. I believe in Buyer Be Aware. Do your research, buy from someone you can trust, and try to work out any problems with sales people personally. My goal is to be a seller you trust. *A flat or jagged spot that should be round or finished. Usually the result in manufacture of the item being separated from the mold. It also occurs in used ponies after being dragged across a surface. **Usually a bit of plastic that sticks out with a rough edge, or in a place that shouldn't be. Also the result of rushed plastic mold manufacture. I have FINALLY got my hands on the German G3 Blind Bags. Just a tiny bit bigger than the G3 Ponyville Ponies, and with a slightly different look, (Closer to the 3.5 2009 Redesign). The G3 Blind Bags had fifteen different ponies, all variants of the 2008 Core Friends ( http://www.intothesea.com/MyLittlePony/IDPages/2009_CoreFriends.htm ) Starsong, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Scootaloo, Toola-Roola (v2), Cheerilee, and Sweetie Belle. The case includes the possibility of 3 different Crystal Ponies, made from the clear plastic. Two poses of Pinkie Pie, and one crystal pose of Starsong. So, that being said. They are SO CUTE. I really wanted to collect the crystal ponies for my collection, so they were the first things I looked for in the case. I now have them all! Yay! Probably the biggest difference between these ponies and the traditional Ponyville ponies is that they have more exaggerated cheeks and smaller noses. They also lack the peg hole that the Ponyville ponies have in their front hooves for accessories. They can still fit in Ponyville houses and in most accessories, they just can't be anchored as well. But for any collector, ESPECIALLY the kids who Collected all the Core Friends already, these little guys are pure gold. The poses, both standing on rear feet, or centered on all four, are beautiful and distinctive from any other pony, and the paintwork is beautiful. I'm going to have these ponies up for list as a New Years Sale. If you DESPERATELY want one by Christmas I'm happy to do private orders through my website contact email. $9.99 gets you a pony of your choice* (*Of the ponies I have in stock. The box is filled randomly, and I haven't opened every packet yet. Some poses may simply not be available in this shipment.) it also gets you the Pony name card, the foil envelope it came in, and the Hasbro insert of all the available ponies.
Bear in mind these ponies are EXTREMELY rare. Of all the people selling ponies on Ebay I haven't found any of these, and I'm shipping domestically, NOT international, so you save on both shipping plus you have the peace of mind in knowing that you can track your package from point A, right to your front door. Mostly I just LOVE these little darlings. They're better made and sturdier than the G4 ponies, which frankly, are likely to gt mangled just prying them out of the package if you aren't careful. Plus I have a lot of love for the ponies chosen. They each have great personalities and are such FUN in the movies. I'm so psyched to have these! I can't wait to start shipping them out for sale! I am SO thrilled to announce that starting THIS MONDAY I will be listing the RARE collectible 2" G4 Friendship is Magic Ponies! These are also known as 'Blind Bag' ponies, and were originally released in Europe, but only available in the US as a set. I have invested in a group of them, and if sales do well I hope to make them a frequent item for sale here!
Take a look at them here: http://mylittleponymadness.weebly.com/new-g4-friendship-is-magic-ponies.html Each pony purchased includes her story card, and these are all on BRAND NEW condition! These are SO adorable! I hope you love them as much as I do! |
